My friend broke his leg?

One of my close guy friends broke his leg on friday in his school's football game. I'm a cheerleader for his school. He goes to an all boys school and I go to an all girls school. He's really sad since he loves football. This is my 3rd time seeing this happen. My friend tore his ACL, MCL and sprained his LCL and PCL. My brother tore his ACL and MCL in football games. How can I comfort my friend? Should I make a nice cheer for him?
