Help with some French pronunciation?

I am taking part in my high school's production ot The Scarlet Pimpernel, and I am cast as the part of Phillipe Tussaud. My quarrel with some of the cast is over the pronunciation of my character's name. I have taken French, and am fairly sure it is pronounced as to-sew, in English. They are insisting on a literal pronunciation, such as tus-awed. Can someone back me up or correct me?
