Does YA politics have a bigotry problem?

I think many on Y/A, knowing they have the anonymity of being online, simply shut off the normal filters that civilized people use when discussing issues face-to-face. It's not that most of us don't have ping nasty thoughts about someone we don't agree with in some way... we're human so we'd be lying if we said otherwise... but a civilized person's brain kicks in and tucks such thoughts away in some dark corner. Many on Y/A instead lock the civilized aspects of their brains away and let the nastiness run rampant.
